Time Lapse
This weekend I shot video of the completed Listen With Your Eyes piece. While shooting, setup a script to take a screen capture every 10 seconds to make a time-lapse of users interacting with the piece. Here are a few videos from the “view” of the projector…

So close…
So, the visual is done. The ripple effects are aligned with the surface movement. The audio capture works well, but I’m considering adding a second microphone. And I integrated generative sound into the piece. The sound works by calculating the distance between your steps, and “building up” sounds if you move quickly, which then fades over time. Below is my early simulation using the mouse location in place of movement:
The project is nearly complete. On Saturday I setup in the gallery again and film the piece in action, so expect some professional-looking videos soon!
